Notebook computer is a portable stand alone computer including an input device, such as keyboard, touch pad or stylus, a display as an output device, processor unit and memory storage device, all enclosed in one casing that is small enough to easily be carried by hand. Devices such as floppy drive, CD-drive, DVD-drive etc could be included in the casing together with the basic equipment or as separate units connected via I/O ports. Operation will be possible using both battery and AC mains power. A tablet PC is a notebook computer that is designed to be held in the hand as a note-taking device. Other terminology related to notebook computers is laptop, portable computer, etc.
